Essex Team Knockout

The Essex Team Knockout ran alongside the regular League competition from the 70s, played in the winter months and without grading limit. Eventually, interest dwindled and the competition became moribund.

Recently it has reinvented itself as the Summer Rapidplay Knockout, played, as its title suggests, in the summer months. Six boards a side, each match consists of two Rapid Play games at 30 minutes on each players clock per game.

From 2003, a Plate Competition was added for first round losers.
