Successful 1st Brentwood Congress

The 1st Brentwood International Congress was held 17-18 February. Controller: Adam Raoof

There were approximately 230 entrants, with 12 titled players in the Open, which was won by GM Nick Pert with 4½/5. By comparison with existing, long-established, events this is a fine start for a congress which seems destined to be a popular new fixture in the calendar.

Organiser Gavin Strachan described the event as "a great success and a thoroughly enjoyable experience."
