It's Cavendish yet again
13-Jul-2008 Only eight teams entered the Essex team blitz Championship, which was once more retained by Cavendish, pipping Ilford by half a point: 1st Cavenish 21/28; 2nd Ilford 20½; 3rd Writtle 16½. 8 teams
The Lightning Championship was was also poorly supported, but gave rise to an even closer finish: =1st Jeff Goldberg, Roland Payne 4/5; =3rd Kenny Harman, Robin Slade, 3½. 10 players
Jeff Goldberg was declared Lightning Champion on eligibility rules.
