Essex at the British - Sheffield 2011

Essex entries to the British Championships at Sheffield, 24th July – 6th August, numbered 17 (those that we know about). These are listed below, with a synopsis of their scores. You can access the British Championship 2011 website from the link below. Reports of Essex interest can be found on the essexchess blog, while the Essex Brits Table provides a snapshot of our players' performances.

Essex players' games from the Championship and the Major Open can be found in the Essex Brit Games 2011 database. These games in pgn format are published courtesy of the British Chess Championship Bulletin Team and have been published complete for the Championship and to R6 for the Major Open (at 5 Aug 2011). Further games will be added to the Essex Brit database id and when published by the BCC website. The games 'plug-in' below will enable you to play them through on screen. In addition to the Essex players' games, you can also find the Webmaster's Highlight of Week 1. You can download all the published games by going to the BCC website, link below.

Thanks to all those who have contributed to following Essex interests in the roller-coaster ride that is the British Chess Championships, whether they be contributors, Roving Reporters, proof-readers, or simply readers. We could have done it without you, but there wouldn't have been much point, would there?

Congratulations to the players, in particular to our British Champion, Aditya Verma British U8 Champion! And our most prolific player, Adam Taylor, 29 games in two weeks across four events!
