Essex has once more entered all sections of the SCCU Championships, which count as the qualification tournaments for the national County Championships.

David Payne stood down from the U160 captaincy. David took over this team (originally the U150 team) from the 2003-04 Season, so has put in a fair stint of eight campaigns. He has applied himself to the task with 100% effort and whole heart. In five of those seasons, David piloted the team to the national stages, with two semi-finals and three quarter-finals. A splendid record; thank you, David.
In taking on the U160 team, in addition to the U180s, David Brock recognises that he has a heavy workload. But no-one else had come forward, so the Executive accepted David’s offer gratefully. However, as David’s grade is above 160 this season, he is not eligible to play in the U160 side and his involvement will be to pick the teams, but hand the team sheet to a member of the team to officiate on the day (volunteers please step forward).
Statistics In the statistics tables accessible from the Teams menu, The column headed "Perf" gives each player's Grading Performance for the games included. This is subject to a minimum of three gradeable games in any table. These grading performance figures are for interest only; they have no official standing and should not be used for any other purpose.
