"Many thanks for an excellent website." - Nigel Kirby, Bishop's Stortford. 22-Jan-2007

"...est clair, complet, pratique et agréable." - the description of www.essexchess.org.uk by a French website reporting our BCF Website of the Year Award (go to http://echiquiernicois.free.fr/edito/ed33semaine2003.htm and do a word search for 'Essex'). 29-Mar-2004.

"Congratulations on a brilliant website for Essex chess." - Steve Murray, Shell CC. 24-Mar-2004.

"Congratulations by the way on your BCF award for best website. I regularly visit the site and wish others put as much care into the up keep their sites. Well done, Best Regards" - Peter Chapman, Westcliff Chess Club, 05-Aug-03.

"I forgot, when sending you the Essex League results yesterday, to congratulate you on winning the first BCF Website of the Year Award. I will have to be on my toes in the future, and make sure that I keep you up-to-date; it would be a real honour to retain the title. Anyway, congratulations on a job well done!" - David Millward, Essex Chess League Secretary, 07-Jul-03.

"I am pleased to advised that we are making the award [BCF Website of the Year] to your website. There were 9 sites nominated so it was a tough competition. Congratulations on coming out on top." - John Wickham, Chairman BCF Awards Committee, 04-Jul-03

"I like the updated website. Its even better than before. Well done." - Jeff Goldberg, 14-Mar03.

"...excellent ECA website..." - Melvin Pool, Customs Chess Club, 13-Mar03

"Thanks for your email and info about the [Ilford] Congress on the website.  Very impressive!" - Ivor Smith, 23-Feb-03

"Just thought I'd let you know that I'd looked at your new look website and I think you're doing a splendid job! I like the new design and I think you've certainly improved on the site but, for me, the best thing about your site is still the hyperlinking structure.  The way you can click into a team's details, view a particular result and then click on the opposing team details and view their stats etc.  Becasue it's so functional, it allows lots of interested parties to meander through their own analysis of that stats, which is a great feature.

"Keep up the good work. All the best."

- Robert Killeen, Club Secretary, Chelmsford Chess Club, 21-Feb-03

Reply: "Thanks for the complimentary words - always appreciated!

"However, the thanks on the league results links structure should go to David Millward.  This part of the site is simply a copy of his League results system that he keeps as League Secretary and was doing so long before the Website came into being.  David simply sends me his file structure and I drop it into the Website and link it to the index!  I agree it is an excellent resource and I am sure David will appreciate your words, so will copy this exchange to him." - Webmaster.

"Yes I do like the redesign very much" - John Philpott. 20-Feb-03

"Congratulations on developing an excellent website." - Dave Pearse, Maldon CC, 26-Apr-02

I visited your website at www.essexchess.org.uk.

I like how you didn't overuse any graphics on your site, and the pages loaded very quickly.
