Friday 3 and Saturday 4 April 2026

at Wanstead House Community Association, E11 2NT

The Essex Chess Association presents a mini–Easter Festival to hold its individual Championships. In recent years these have taken place within the Southend Easter Congress, which unfortunately cannot be held this year.

Essex Closed events – open to players who belong to a club or school or were born or have residency (either currently or of a previous 5 years’ duration) in Essex or the London Boroughs north of the Thames and east of the River Lea.  A current ECF bronze membership is mandatory.

Rating limits refer to the ECF March 2026 Standard Official Original List (blue)

  • U1600 Competition

Each event is a 5 round Swiss paired and ECF standard rated competition played at G90+10 over two days.  A Round 3 bye may be requested before the start of play for Round 2.

Friday      3 April: R1 9:50am; R2 2:00pm; R3 6:10pm
Saturday  4 April: R4 9:50am; R5 2:00pm

Entry fee:        £40 all sections   (Prizes including rating and junior according to entry)
Payment:         Bank details for advance payment will be given by email on receipt of entry.

 ENTRIES CLOSED at 7pm on Thursday 2nd April.    No entry on the day.

Wanstead House & Hall, Wanstead House Community Association, 21 The Green, Wanstead, London. E11 2NT.  Within the London Ulez zone.
