New Data Protection Regulations come into force on 25th May 2018. You can find our about how the Association processes your personal information in respect of your membership and the Association’s chess activities, including the Essex League, in our Privacy Notice.
The Association is committed to processing personal information lawfully, fairly and transparently by authorised people in a secure way. In doing so the Association ensures that It is collected and processed for specific purposes, is adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary to run the membership Association, Essex League and our other chess activities, is accurate and up-to-date and is kept for no longer than is necessary.
Individual members of the Association (these include those registered for the Essex League) must assist in this process by ensuring that the personal information the Association holds, such as contact telephone numbers, postal addresses and e-mail addresses is always current.

Events organised by the Essex Chess Association
The Association has adopted Conditions of Entry for all of its chess activities which include the use of personal data it collects and processes for its own purposes and for those of others. Participants in our tournaments, county teams and in the Essex League should be familiar with these documents.
