Directions for use: Select the League Division for which data is required from the buttons above. The Division page indicated displays the latest table to the date indicated and the match cards are given in a tabbed display: select the team from the horizontal tabs, which opens a display of vertical tabs for each match with a list of that team’s fixtures.
ECA Website League record
The official record of the Essex League is hosted on the ECF League Mangement System (“LMS”) controlled by the ECA League Secretary and is updated match by match by the team captains entering match results. The LMS is not simply a system on which the League is managed, it is also the prime source by which the results are submitted to the ECF rating system. So why is the data being copied onto the ECA website?
While the Essex League data is recorded on the ECF LMS, we have a strong instinct not to rely on data on an external site being available in perpetuity. It is ECA data so we should retain our own record of that information under our own control. For these reasons, we have taken the decision to record a copy of the League data on this website. Readers will note that this policy has been followed in the case of the 25 seasons of League data recorded by David Millward in the time that he was League Secretary, by the creation of the Essex League Archive.
The data recorded on this, the ECA website, is therefore not a direct link – that being the whole point – but imported from the ECF LMS by copy-and-paste with a minimum of re-typing, which is limited to the creation of the match cards from a blank template; the data displayed in the match card blank is imported by copy-and-paste.
