This evening’s Essex Online Blitz on lichess.org regretfully had to be abandoned when the Lichess server went down. It came back up, only to crash again and did this several times. The tournament had completed Round 1 and we were trying to get Round 2 played, when the problems began.
While, had we persisted, we may have been able to complete, the situation was clearly not stable and we took the decision to abandon.
Games which had completed naturally, i.e. not aborted either by the players or by the server, will be submitted for rating. That will be all R1 (apart from a game which was forfeited) and any R2 which finished naturally.
We will try to find another date, but the calendar is already quite full, so this may be well into the spring.
