The Essex Championships are in play at Wanstead. ECA Tournament Secretary, Mark Murrell, is to be congratulated in reviving head-to-head contests between Essex players after many years of the trophies being awarded at Essex congresses.
The Essex Championship – 12 players – and the Essex Minor Championship (U1900) – 14 players – are joined by an U1600 section with the largest entry 18 players. All sections play three rounds today (3 Apr): 0950, 1400, 1810 and two tomorrow (4 Apr): 0950, 1400.
