The last round of the first ECA Online Championships produced some sparkling play, a triumph for Organiser, Mark Murrell. The Open was particularly well-contested and was finished out by David Sands with a win with black over Russell White, to become the first EssexOnline Champion. The conclusion of the ECF Online Counties Championships is this Saturday, 22 August, starting at 6.30 pm. The Essex Open team missed out on qualification for the Major Open Final, but Essex has a team in the U1825 Championship Final, where they meet Lincolnshire. In theatre, it is considered bad luck to say “good luck” so they say “break a leg!” instead; not sure how easy it is to undergo that particular misfortune online, so we’ll leave it at that. […]
