April Rating Lists
Southend Easter Chess Festival – 17-21 April 2025
at Southend Adult Community College, Ambleside Drive, Southend-on-Sea, SS1 2UN
https://southendchesscongress.org/
The April rating lists are out (1 April 2025) which are used for all players’ eligibility for the rating-limited sections. All ratings on the Festival website entries lists have been updated and all players are in the right section according to their April ratings.
Players who were waiting for the April lists before submitting their entry(ies) should now do so, while those who have already entered can check their data in the entry list, e.g. check for accuracy of the updated ratings (the fixed figures shown in blue on the ECF Rating Database), make sure if you requested byes, that they are correctly recorded, etc. It should be noted that ratings used by the Arbiter for pairings may be different (e.g. a Rapid rating where no standard rating available for standard play sections or vice versa for the Rapid), or live ratings at the start of a tournament, etc.
The Congress will again feature the award of the Essex Championship (holder: FM Bob Eames (Loughton CC)) and Essex Minor Championship (holder Ryan Colclough (Wanstead CC)) – to be awarded, respectively, to the highest placed eligible competitor in the FIDE Open and the FIDE and ECF U1900. In the event of a tie for either, tie-break(s) is/are: Sum of Progressive Scores and if there is still a tie, Sum of Opponents Scores.
Deadlines for entry:
Rapid – 10.00 pm Wednesday 16 April 2025
Congress – 10.00 pm Thursday 17 April 2025
