SCCU U1850: Essex 10-6 Kent
At Wanstead House Essex fielded their strongest team of the campaign, but Kent held the edge by nine points a board. At one point in the early results Essex were two down and it was not until the eighth result in the match, at 4.25 pm, that Essex U1850 took the lead, not only in this match but this season! After that Essex found their mettle and strode away to a remarkable four point advantage at the finish.

SCCU U1450: Essex 7-5 Kent
At Wanstead House More stirring action in the U1450 match where Essex started with three wins to nil only to be pegged back to 3-3. After the first draw of the match in the seventh result, Essex re-established a three point lead with the next three results. After only the second draw, Kent won the last game to finish to narrow the Essex winning margin to two points.
