In addition to the Essex Championship being awarded at the Southend Congress, the Essex Minor Championship 2021-22 will be awarded to the highest placed eligible competitor in the “Leigh on Sea” FIDE and ECF U1900 at the Southend Easter Chess Congress, 15-18 April 2022.
Entry to the Congress is available by post or online at the Congress website: https://southendchesscongress.org/
The holder of the Essex Minor trophy (2019) is Elie Gamal, (formerly Basildon, now of Brentwood CC). The trophy is in need of repair, so after presentation at the congress, we will hold on to the trophy to get it repaired, then subsequently re-present it when it has been repaired.
As previously announced, the Essex Championship will be awarded to the highest placed eligible player in the Southend FIDE Open 15-18 April 2022. Holder (2019): John Moore (Writtle).
