Two Essex teams compete in the ECF County Championships Finals today: U2050 and U1450 and in each case the opposition is Surrey. For once the Finals are being played at other than a central venue, in the case of the U2050, U1650 (Surrey v Warks) and U1450, the venue is Wanstead House. There was a central venue arranged in Nuneaton, but the booking fell through so the fallback of finding local venues kicked in. The Wanstead House matches start at 13:30 and the full playing session is five hours plus increments.
The other Finals are:
Open: Northumberland v Yorkshire in Darlington at 14:00;
Minor Counties: Devon v Norfolk, and will take place at Knaphill, nr Woking, at 13:30;
U1850: Yorkshire v Middlesex at Syston in Ullesthorpe in Leicestershire at 13.30.
