Event-specific Conditions of Entry
SCCU County Championships 2021/22 (October 2021 – March 2022)
The SCCU’s covid policy for this event does not meet the Association’s minimum standards for playing conditions. The SCCU policy has not been incorporated into the event rules. Accordingly, there are no minimum standards. There is no protection for players within the playing area from aerosol transmission. Whilst a rule change for the current event allows flexibility on board orders to allow players wishing to play with face coverings to be paired together, a “good reason” is required to invoke this and there is no protection from spectators or other players in the absence of minimum standards. The SCCU has not published its risk assessment for the event.
The ECA will support those players who wish to accept the increased risk of aerosol transmission of being in close proximity in a closed indoor environment for an extended period of time without aerosol barriers and may include unvaccinated opponents, provided there are sufficient players willing to play under such conditions to justify a team entry. However, players and team captains participate at their own risk.
